About

I am Babi Szolosi. I love trail running and I love nature. Why trail running? It’s faster than hiking, can cover more ground in a day. Love the look on the hikers faces when I answer their question: “How far are you running today?”. I never miss reminding them, that I wouldn’t be able to do that if I was carrying their back pack.

I love the Prom – it’s one of my favourite places in the world. I try to do a run there at least once a month—don’t mind the drive early in the morning and the drive back on tired legs. There is always something different and the views are amazing. I can warmly recommend running/hiking there, it’s  more to it than Tidal River.

Another one of my favourites is the Australian Alps, although I don’t get the chance to run there enough. There is always something unexpected in that area, that can be good or bad—an experience nevertheless. I really like the toughness of it and the fact that you can’t just bail out after a few kms.

I also love the Blue Mountains. Tough running there on its own right with some stunning views and waterfalls. Oh, and let’s not forget the stairs!

The local trails at Lysterfield Lake and the Dandenongs are amazing, too. One can easily clock up a long run with some elevation on them.

I’ll try to give you as much information about these routes as possible. Where to park, amenities available nearby, water, important signs to look out for, Strava activity (GPS file) with elevation profile, what nutrition  and gear I used. The duration is the moving time.

Let me take you on some of my adventures.
